The effective management of enterprise information for analytics deployment requires best practices in the areas of people, processes, and technology. In this talk we will share both successful and unsuccessful practices in these areas. The scope of this workshop will involve five key areas of enterprise information management:

  1. metadata management
  2. data quality management
  3. data security and privacy
  4. master data management, and
  5. data integration.

We will examine the role of governance at the executive level and at the user level along with effective organisational structures and processes for both architectural and data governance. Detailed discussion of BICC (Business Intelligence Competency Center) deployment will be included.  We will also discuss the role of logical, physical, and semantic data modeling.

A true enterprise data foundation needs to export decision making capabilities throughout an organisation. This course discusses the use of Microservices to deploy decisioning services both within an organisation and to users outside of traditional organisational boundaries.  Enterprise Information Management in the age of “Big Data” will also be discussed.
